10 DAYS OFF 2007
Vooruit, Ghent, Belgium
July 13-23

About 10 Days Off
10 Days Off is the yearly high mass of club music in Belgium. Started off as Ten Days of Techno in 1995, the event has now become a gathering of the tribes where virtually every kind of electronic music can be seen and heard. Not only techno, but every sound you could possibly imagine hearing in the international night clubs of today: house, electro, breakbeats, rock, drum 'n' bass, minimal, broken beats, dubstep, nu-jazz, techno, funk, disco, electro-house and other hybrid genres. Adventure and attraction first!

The line-up features both established names and upcoming talent, DJs and producers, locals and internationals, and visitors coming from all over Europe, music lovers and party animals. They all want to sample the unique atmosphere of 10 Days Off, the variety of styles and sounds the event has to offer.

10 Days Off is one of the four official festivals within the "Gentse Feesten", which is the biggest city festival in Europe. The madness of this event draws the attention of millions of people from all over Europe. 10 Days Off can also count on many foreign visitors, including journalists rom several international magazines, from Japan to Brazil, the USA and of course Europe. In 2005 and 2006 we had about 25.000 people.

Traditionally, 10 Days Off takes place at the stunning Vooruit Arts Centre, in the centre of Ghent. This means: 3 stages and a whole lot of artists - about 100 DJs and live acts, many of which are performing at the festival for the very 1st time!

10 Days Off, line-up
Version 2007 is both a nice meeting of familiar faces from past line-ups and the usual mix of unknown and upcoming talent from Belgium and abroad. A few names:

A drum'n'bass history threesome with British pioneers 4Hero, Grooverider and Fabio, with relative newcomers Subfocus and TC (the latter as a live act) sitting in as well.

The buzz word of the past twelve months or so has been "dubstep", a musical style that has sprung from the clash between drum'n'bass, techno, hiphop and dub reggae, of which three main representatives will be performing at 10 Days Off: youngsters Skream and Plastician, and BBC Radio One DJ Mary Anne Hobbs, whose much-lauded radio show has taken dubstep to a much wider audience. A duo that's also heavily touched by dub and breakbeats: Makossa & Megablast from Vienna.

Canadian minimal meister Richie Hawtin is flying in once again from his now hometown Berlin to present a M-nus label night along with his pupils Magda and Gaiser, and from Detroit we have Audion a.k.a. Matthew Dear dropping by for a live set.

Our neighbours from the East are once again all over the place, with big shots Monika Kruse, Tiefschwarz, Dixon, Ellen Allien and the handsome twosome Booka Shade, who burned down the house last year with a stunning live set in the Main Room.

Coincidence or not, but France is back on top of the club scene. From the south we welcome Etienne de Crécy behind the turntables, while Alex Gopher, Joakim and Agoria will be playing live. And then there's international hit machine Martin Solveig and the godfather of the French dance scene Mr. Laurent Garnier, who is playing live and deejaying as well.

More live rawness we can expect from Australian band The Presets, the British Two Lone Swordsmen (with Radioactive Man and the legendary Andrew Weatherall at the controls), Brussels' Spirit Catcher and of course our man STIJN, who will be playing solo again.

With Dutch chart topper Mason 10 Days Off makes the crossover once again to the charts, while Britons Does It Offend You, Yeah? and Slam add a significant dose of rawness to the line-up.
Also from the UK: Mr. John Digweed, one of the biggest stars of the international dance scene whose fans make a habit of trying to sink Ibiza each year, travelling to the island in large numbers.

And last but not least, on the final day Canadian superstar Tiga will be setting fire to the Main Room with a little help from his friends of the Turbo label in an all-night feature.

All in all a pretty varied menu at 10 Days Off 2007!
